Given China’s pressing need for sustainable energy to reduce vulnerability in the energy sector and maximize its growing influence in international politics and relations, the country has, in recent years, sought to establish specialized political-economic cooperation with the countries of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council and the Eurasian strategic region. Using a descriptive-analytical-comparative approach and drawing on library sources, this study examines Beijing’s increasing presence in these regions and addresses the strategic question: What explicit and implicit objectives does the People’s Republic of China pursue through deepening political and economic relations with GCC member states and actors in the Eurasian strategic area? The study hypothesizes that, considering the economic weight of the countries in these regions and their special position within the Belt and Road Initiative, China seeks to implement new geopolitical strategies aimed at ensuring secure and sustainable energy access, maintaining target markets along the Belt and Road, and enhancing cooperation with regional partners in both the Persian Gulf and Eurasia.
